How To Help

The Winnetka Public Schools Foundation welcomes the participation of District 36 parents, educators, and community members. You can join us in a variety of ways:

  • Join the Board! Check out the list of Foundation Board members and ask a board member you know to tell you more about the WPSF and/or contact us if you’d be interested in serving on the board. Serving on the WPSF Board is a unique opportunity to work closely with District 36 administrators and other engaged Winnetka parents.

  • Attend The Carlson Event! Learn more about the work of the Foundation and the types of education offered in District 36 by attending The Carlson Event or other WPSF-sponsored talks and events.

  • Peruse the Annual Report to find out more about the wonderful programs supported by the generosity of parents and community members.

CARLSON EVENT

The 2024 Carlson Event was held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at The Skokie School.

The Carlson Event is a lively, interactive evening that provides the community an opportunity to learn about the types of grants the Foundation funds within the district. Parents come away with a clearer understanding of how students benefit from these grants, and educators receive valuable feedback from parents. The Carlson Event is held annually in recognition of Charlotte Carlson, a beloved educator who worked in the Winnetka public schools from 1935-1972 and whose generous donation in 2002 helped launch the Foundation.
